Homemade Hot Chocolate Truffles
These oh-so-tasty hot cocoa truffles are going to be the hit of your holiday festivities.
They look just so darling and they are incredibly easy to make.
You’ll start by heating your chocolate, cream, sugar, and cocoa mixture on the stove top until it is well combined, the chocolate is all melted, and it’s a smooth consistency. The mixture will thicken as it cools, this picture should help show you what a cooled consistency should look like.
After your chocolate truffle mixture has cooled, the fun part begins! Decorating these yummy chocolate truffle balls with cocoa powder or mini marshmallow bits.
The mix together looks so cute no one will be able to resist them!

Hot Chocolate Truffles Recipe
Homemade Hot Chocolate Truffles
These homemade hot chocolate truffles taste like a yummy cup of hot cocoa with two topping options! This will be a favorite Christmas dessert to share!
Ingredients
- 5 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- For toppings:
- Cocoa powder
- Mini marshmallow bits
Instructions
- In a small pot over medium heat, melt chocolate chips along with sugar, heavy cream and cocoa powder. Stir frequently.
- Once evenly melted and smooth, refrigerate for 4 hours.
- Once thoroughly cooled and stiff, scoop out 1-inch balls using a cookie scoop, and roll between hands until round.
- Refrigerate again for 15 minutes to stiffen up any chocolate that melted by being rolled.
- Pour out cocoa powder on a small plate, and roll half of your balls in it to coat.
- Press marshmallow bits in the rest of your balls.
- Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
